SHINE BABY SHINE

Hard to believe that New Year’s Eve is already tomorrow but being at the moment wrapped in tons of dresses, constantly repeating that “I have nothing to wear”, I assume that here we are all over again. While selecting the perfect outfit for tomorrow nights is a drama, at least I don’t have the same problems with make-up – find my Top 3 products for a shiny makeup look for New Year’s Eve in this post:

MARIAH CAREY X MAC EYE PALETTE

Not being into Mariah’s tubes, I was surprised to actually adore the collaboration the singer did with MAC, and especially a very particular Eye Palette : the “It’s Everything” one. This set is housed in a glittery, quite eye-catching, compact and contains four neutral-toned eye-shadows that work really well together. Let’s have a closer look on the shades:
Diamond Butterfly : a light, baby-pink beige with a sparkly finish
I’d Give My All : a light, grey-taupe with a sparkly finish
Twinks : a medium-dark, bordeaux with brown undertones and a sparkly finish
Images Of Rapture : a dark taupe with a satin finish
The four shades have a good color payoff and are easy to blend, with a soft and smooth texture (except Diamond Butterfly maybe, that was a bit dryer than the others). Definitely a good buy as these are the perfect shades to play with for NYE festivities as well as for regular days.

CUSHION HIGHLIGHTER BY LANCÔME

Highlighter was my biggest beauty discovery this year, and I mean it. Somehow, before I tested my first highlighter I couldn’t have possibly imagined how obsessed I would become with this kind of product – to be totally honest now I never leave my place without an additional little glow, often it is even the only product I apply over my moisturizing cream. Lancôme’s highlighting cushion is the fourth highlighter I tested on me, and the second one I really adored! The packaging is a round, compact that features a large round mirror, a silicone face sponge and a stand alone, sealed compartment with a highlight-filled sponge. And just because Lancôme never do things by halves the compact closes with a lid covered in golden sparkles. Hi perfection!
Having never used this “cushion” system before, I found it highly practical. The product itself looks like a peachy beige liquid that, once applied on the skin, appears to be really glowy and weightless (that’s probably why I love using it by itself). Definitely a try!

BLUSH PRODIGE BY CLARINS

“Wow you’re blushing” he said, winking, “Yeah, it’s Blush Prodige by Clarins in 03 Miami Pink shade” she answered.
Coming in a red velvet pouch with a very elegant looking golden packaging, this Clarins blush compact is divided into two different shades of pink and contains a small brush + a big mirror (that is absolutely perfect for quick touch-ups during the day, or party). The shades have a different finish, as one is shimmery and the second is more matte – worn alone, the shimmering shade gives a fresh “flushed” look while the matte one would really give that definite blush effect, but I usually blend it all together for a lovely, quite natural-looking shade.
